Indian Inspired

This week sees the birthday of my Father-in-Law and he has a huge interest in all things Native American, so inspired by his hobby I decided I'd try to replica a card with an Indian feel using feathers that were inked in browns & blacks, but not a dream catcher as I thought it might look too girly.  The edges were aged and torn a little and I gently rubbed the ink pad over the embossed image with black.

My Father-in-Law also loves reading and collecting postcards from that era and upon rummaging through my forgotten stash I discovered a Tim Holtz old postcard embossing folder, my hey presto moment and hopefully he'll like his Native American Indian card.

Supplies: Basic white card blank, Kraft cardstock, white feathers, buttons, string, Tim Holtz embossing folder, KaiserCraft gems.

Mother's Day

Just a couple of cards that I've made for my lovely mom and my mother-in-law with a pastel feeling as Spring is just a week away.  For those not in the know the 1st day of Spring is on the 20th March when the vernal equinox takes place, how do I know this fact... simple I was either born on the last day of Winter or like this year, the 1st day of Spring.  I love my birthday :)

Supplies: White cardstock, KaiserCrafts gems, Sizzix flower die, Memory Box butterfly and honeycomb dies

Supplies: White card 7x5", KaiserCraft gems, Pink Petticoat papers, random butterfly stamp and a flower punch

Well I'm back to doing tweaking and adjusting this blog until I'm happy with it, enjoy your weekend folks!

My New Blog

Well its been a number of years since I had a crafting blog and after a long break from crafting I have recently, thanks to my new husband's encouragement and much to my mothers delight started to craft again.  At the moment, I'm just posting to see how it looks and tweaking things here and there, but I will over the next week upload some cards.  It shouldn't take me too long to get to grips with things as I was once an avid blogger, scrapbooker and cardmaker.

So as a famous man once said... I'll be back!
